The Lippman lab working with the laboratory of Y. Eshed at the Weizmann Institute, Israel have developed indel molecular markers for mapping purposes using S. lycopersicum and S. pimpinellifolium as parents. The indels were identified based on the filtered alignments with chromosomal physical positions, indel size and flanking sequences (300bp). 9474 indels were predicted between S. lycopersicum cv. Heinz and S. pimpinellifolium: 5503 are S. pimpinellifolium insertions and 3971 are S. pimpinellifolium deletions

The research groups of Michael C. Schatz and Zachary B. Lippman at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York have generated transcriptome sequences of the green-fruited wild tomato species Solanum peruvianum.

More than 400 accessions were phenotyped by EUSOL, using the Solanaceae Phenotype ontology, and are now available at SGN, with cross-links to the EUSOL website. This data was kindly contributed by Dr. Richard Finkers.
