Recombinant Vaccine Production

In the manufacturing process of a vaccine, one or several genes of etiologic agents have been cloned, expressed and purified to be developed as vaccines. There are a variety of expression systems with different advantages such as bacteria, yeast, mammalian cells and insect cells, allowing the production of large quantities of proteins depending on the required characteristics, which would stimulate the immune system in a way similarly to bearing natural infections. And the vaccines can be put into use for both prophylactic and therapeutic.
